Described by Downbeat Magazine as “all the right tones of jazz, R&B, and singer-songwriter”, Anson Jones stands out with sensitive songwriting and a captivating voice. Her music is soulful and ethereal, often layering folk-inspired melodies with intricate harmonies.

Anson’s music has its roots in her study of composition – her thesis for Princeton University, “City Veins”, won the Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts, as well as the the Isodore and Helen Sacks Memorial Prize in Music. After graduating, Anson spent a year in Paris on a Fulbright Scholarship and Harriet Hale-Wooley Award at the Fondation Des États-Unis, composing instrumental jazz-classical music for various groups. That same year, she won the John Wallowich Award for songwriting from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets for “I Just Want to Hold You”.

Anson has shared her sound on stages across the U.S. and France, performing at venues such as Mercury Lounge, the Sultan Room, Chelsea Table + Stage, the Litchfield Jazz Festival, Les Disquaires, and Le F.E.U.. With an EP on Downbeat’s “Best of 2022” list and new music slated for 2026, she continues to build her evocative universe.
